The Financial Times and its research partner, Statista, are launching a new ranking project to help businesses identify the best recruitment firms in their sectors.

These days, 47 per cent of British businesses outsource some or all of their staff recruitment to agencies and search firms, according to the latest Resourcing and Talent Planning Report from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. But, with the Office for National Statistics reporting 1.12 million UK job vacancies last month — and this tight labour market pushing private sector wage inflation up to 7 per cent — using the most effective recruiters has become a priority for many.

So our ranking of the UK’s Leading Recruiters 2024 will draw on recommendations from hiring managers, job candidates and staffing agencies themselves, to shortlist the highest-rated firms in different industries.

If you are a member of a human resources department at a UK-based employer, or a manager responsible for hiring, or if you work for a recruitment or executive search firm, or if you have been in contact with a recruiter as a candidate, please click here to register for our survey.

You may also invite your colleagues, peers and clients to participate in the survey — after you register, you will be sent a link to a survey questionnaire in which you may also enter their contact details.

Our final ranking will be published on November 3 2023 in an FT special report, with the newspaper and online at ft.com. Alongside the sector listings, FT journalists will provide commentary on the recruitment profession and the business challenges that it is helping to meet.
