Suit by Dior

As an architect living in a tropical climate, I tend to dress casually but, as my business is expanding abroad – in Shanghai, India, and New York City – I find I’m wearing more suits. International clients tend to be more formal so I will often opt for a slim-cut suit by Dior. These fit my aesthetic and are well constructed, with great attention to detail, and have small lapels that are flattering. I have many versions of the same suit in greys, black and dark blue.

Shirt by Dior

Of 100 or so shirts I own, at least half are white. I prefer dress shirts by Calvin Klein and Dior and because one of my arms is 1cm longer than the other because of a dislocated shoulder, I appreciate them keeping my specific measurements on file. When I find something I love, I tend to return to it again and again. Even when I am dressing casually, I’ll wear one of these dress shirts untucked with a simple pair of flat-front Prada trousers.

Watch by A Lange & Söhne

I have several watches but my favourite is an oversized platinum A Lange & Söhne that I discovered in St Moritz. It is a mechanical watch and features separate hour and second dials with an oversized date that sits in perfect balance on the watch face.

Belt by Zegna

I have many belts that all look the same: simple black leather with rectangular silver buckles. Zegna makes one I particularly like that works well with both suits and casual jeans.

Shoes by Prada

All my shoes are made of black leather and match the various suits and trousers I wear when I travel. I have lace-ups, slip-ons and loafers and just generally prefer contemporary interpretations of classic men’s dress shoes. Prada is my go-to brand because its proportions tend to be more abstract and modern. If I am working in New York during the winter, I’ll wear a version with a rubberised heel – but always in black.
