Botswana rocked by 6.5-magnitude earthquake

Botswana was struck by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake on Monday with tremors felt across the region at least as far as Johannesburg, South Africa’s economic hub.
The earthquake struck at a depth of just over 11km at 7.40pm local time in a relatively remote region of the country that’s about 230km north of the capital Gaborone, the United States Geological Survey reported.
Strong tremors were also felt in Harare and Bulawayo, the capital and second city of Zimbabwe, as well as in South Africa’s Gauteng region.
Verdade, a newspaper in Mozambique, reported that tremors had also been felt in the country.
