    Sam Fleming is the FT's economics editor. He was previously Brussels bureau chief until the summer of 2023, covering EU policy. Between 2015 and 2019 he was based in Washington DC, working as US economics editor and deputy bureau chief. He joined the FT in 2013 to cover financial regulation.
